GARMENT INFORMATION below photographyI WANTED TO PRACTICE ON MY LIGHTING AND EDITING ; SPECIFICALLY HOW LIGHT SHAPED AND DIRECTED AT DIFFERENT SUBJECTS CAN GIVE SPECIFIC EMOTIONS, AND ALSO HIGHLIGHTING SPECIFIC PARTS OF A CLUTTERED PICTURE.
In this three part Upcycled project i mainly focus on Aesthetics over technical design since it’s my usual focus when sewing. i want to dive deeper in world building and how a simple garment can be upcycled in Various ways to change the Aesthetic of the garment and hence the world it lives in.
WORLDBUILDING
for this shoot i wanted to build an Evening from the life of a ballet dancer; After training she changes her top and Puts on her spats to keep her calves warm as she rushes home. bored and swaying between Tired and full of energy, she dives into her magazines reading everything from fashion to politics. In a spur of energy she recites her choreography for the Upcoming show, in a silly but methodical way she creates an old black and white movie in her head, moving around in the room doing poses and spins using the things around her as props. Until Inevitably her spur of energy fades into a blanketing Lonely boredom. with the Magazines full of feeling and color Scattered around her and the vibrant choreography in her muscle memory. she lays and leans against anything that may let her get some rest she needs after a long day.
